Then I Saw the Children

My first delivery (Part 2):

My life was forever changed by the first Furnishing Families of Texas delivery I helped with personally. Seeing the children was a spectacular turning point and the day just kept getting better. 

Their faces lit up as they started to see what was coming inside their home, into their bedrooms, and was about to become theirs. These tiny people, not older than 4, 5 or 6 were HELPING us move it all in. They had their small hands on the big sofas, as if it was going to make a difference.

They way they related to something that to me was never anything more than "stuff' in my crib. How could I value it more? I have always had sofas, dressers, carpets, dishes....beds...my own bed. I never even gave it a second thought. To witness these children rejoice because for the first time they had a bed, was nothing short of a miracle. It was pure wonderment.

This ministry has given me many days like those first ones. To see someone crying, or laughing or saying, "Wow now I have pots and pans!”

I honor the Lord…

for this ministry in more ways than I can mention. I don’t know how long the Lord will have me work with Furnishing Families of Texas, but I can say with no hesitation:

There was a me before Furnishing Families of Texas and now there is a different me after Furnishing Families of Texas. I will never be the same.
