Once Upon a Time
Let me tell you a story. It is not a fairy tale story, it is a real-life story with a real-life happy ending. This story began many years ago when I, Annabelle, helped my mother furnish and prepare the rental properties our family owned. My siblings didn’t particularly enjoy this family business, but I loved to go furniture hunting with my mom and then help with the arranging and decorating to make the houses feel like homes.
Fast forward through my life, full of ministry and family, to a day when the Lord opened up that home-maker place in my heart again. ❤️ I had a dream when I was a child of having an orphanage. It was developed over time from watching Shirley Temple movies in grade school and believing that orphans were mistreated. In my heart I wanted to create a loving, affirming place for children to live and thrive. Even considering my vivid childhood dream, I certainly never saw this coming. Furnishing Families of Texas is a dream come true, but could the Lord have had this in mind for me all along?
The Lord enjoys making us His home and at Furnishing Families of Texas we can honestly say—there is nothing like seeing a family who watches their empty dwelling become a fully furnished, functional home. Many of the families we serve have never lived in a stable home or were thrown out of their homes for reasons we may never know. It is our joy and pleasure to be able to turn a shelter into a home through the love and grace of Jesus Christ. Furnishing Families is able to bless families physically, which opens their hearts to hear why we do what we do. We want to see His Kingdom come and His will be done in the lives of the families we serve.
Grateful for happy endings,
Annabelle and Lance
