1. Furnishing Families of Texas prioritizes family units of more than one person. Because of our mission, single individuals with no children may be placed on a separate wait list or denied service depending on circumstances.⁠

⁠2. We are not an "upgrade" service. To be a good steward of our resources, we look to provide furnishings to meet a household’s needs. We may provide beds/furniture to replace existing ones already owned if these beds and/or furniture are nearly destroyed or unable to be used for reasonable reasons. We reserve the right to withhold items if we observe the items already owned are in good condition. Most of our items are in gently used condition. Mattresses are brand new or in new condition.⁠

⁠3. If your application is approved, your family will be placed in line on a first come first serve basis. This could be a shorter or longer list, depending on the amount of recent requests at the time. We currently are not able to give an exact wait time once approved. Wait times could be a week, many weeks, or over a month.⁠

⁠4. If your needs become fulfilled during the waiting process from another source, please let us know as soon as possible to either update your list or remove your place in line.⁠
