Furnishing Families of Texas has been moving at full speed from the day Annabelle and Lance gave Tylynn Richard’s a bedroom suite in 2017. When she asked for a twin bed for her son DaMarcus–a bed that our friend Wanda Gaspard joyfully purchased–it caused a chain reaction throughout their community. Tylynn gave wings to the word of mouth praise report, and before long, we found ourselves in the “bed business,” recognizing this heartbreaking need.
Since then, word has spread from person to person, from aid organizations we worked with, to community programs who served at the same events we did, and beyond. The Lord is a master networker, and He has connected us with some special people who have come alongside Furnishing Families of Texas in support and cooperation.
Furnishing Families of Texas regularly receives calls from community neighbors who want to partner with us in serving at-risk families. Since the beginning of this year, SOS International and Milestone Church have both scheduled teams to spend the day with us, doing whatever is needed. We continue to have groups from the North Fort Worth Campus of Gateway Church volunteer with deliveries to help furnish homes. The McDonald YMCA in SE Fort Worth partners with our quarterly clothing and home decor outreaches. And we have close connections with government and private organizations like The Tarrant County Housing Coalition, The Texas Department of Child Protective Services, The Presbyterian Night Shelter, and The Goodness Project. But we know this is just the beginning.
With the generous support of Gateway Church (thank you for the beautiful new box truck), Living Stones Foundation, Lance Wallnau Ministries, The Huston Foundation and our faithful individual givers, Furnishing Families of Texas is moving into areas only the Lord could open for us. You are partnering together with God in releasing provision for families in need, and we appreciate it.
