Joel’s Story

When I started working for Furnishing Families of Texas, I was at somewhat of a crossroads in my life. Without getting into the details, I had quite simply lost my faith that anything I had done in my past or would do in my future would ever truly matter. Broke financially and broken mentally, I got a text one day asking if I’d like to help my mom’s friend Annabelle move some furniture. I really didn’t know what to expect so I just showed up and got started doing what was asked of me. By the end of that day, my spirit went from what I would consider ground zero for myself, to a sense that no matter what was going on in my life, I could make a difference.

When asked to write this… my mind just gravitated to the hearts of the amazing people who are involved with Furnishing Families. It starts at the top with Annabelle and how she has managed to find the right people whether it be through building relationships or just having a good eye for the people she wants to be involved with. The DFW metroplex is truly blessed by our leader’s heart and her intelligence to surround herself with people that share her compassion for the less fortunate. I am extremely proud to be part of this TEAM and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
