Hi, this is Annabelle Wallnau, founder of Furnishing Families of Texas.

As of May 1st 2024, we are putting a pause on the intake of all additional family applicants into our system at this time. We now have over 70 families waiting to be served, and some have been there since last fall. We need to take the time to complete what we started and give the proper care to each family before we take on any new applicants. We do not know how long this freeze will be in place. We will, however, still be receiving donations of new and gently used items.

I'm joining my faith with yours that when you ask God for everything you need, that he will give you, all of it according to his riches and glory. I want you to know that this is how we pray in every provision in all our warehouses and the contents that are for all new families.

What started as a childhood dream for an orphanage has become a community-transforming movement. Founder Annabelle Wallnau created Furnishing Families of Texas to meet the physical and spiritual needs of single moms and their children. Now, this outreach includes any family unit with limited or no resources.

We provide beds, bedding, furniture, kitchenware, and more to predominantly single moms with children in need in the DFW area.

Our warehouse is filled and poised from estate sale acquisitions, resale furniture stores, wholesale mattress suppliers, in-kind donations, hotel renovations, and generous partners to serve the families that find us. Our Vision

Furnishing Families is a Christian Organization that changes the trajectory of a child’s and family’s life experience, starting with a bed to sleep in, furniture to sit on, and a table to eat at—creating a newly furnished home.
We are incredibly grateful for generous givers with a heart for families. Our partners can contribute financially, through volunteering, and in donating items.
This work shares the love and goodness of God by bringing furniture directly to families. Free deliveries are made without the intervention of social services or case workers.

How we began…

“In March 2018, we had a water disaster in our home that required us to remove the contents of a bedroom and give the furniture away. I called our local Rapid Rehousing program at The Center For Transforming Lives, and within minutes, they gave me the name of a woman who needed the bedroom set. She was just moving into her first apartment. We quickly found out that her 7 year old didn't have a bed and had actually never slept in a bed in his life. His twin bed was the very first mattress that we purchased. Since then, we've given over 1000 beds to families in need!”
